We started on Counter for our first six months, then moved to Kitchen once weekend lines got long enough to need the assistant.

Things people actually ask before signing up

What happens if the wifi drops mid-service?

Orders already in the kitchen queue stay put — that's local to the device. New orders queue on the guest's phone and send the second signal's back, usually within a few seconds. It's saved us during two router restarts so far.

Do guests need to download anything?

No — it's a browser tab, not an app. That was non-negotiable for us; a guest isn't installing something for a 20-minute lunch.

Can a regular save their usual order?

Not yet — it's the most-requested thing in our feedback inbox, and honestly we're a little annoyed we didn't ship it first. It's next.

Is the AI actually AI, or rules dressed up?

Today it's deterministic logic running against your real menu — fast, predictable, free to run. There's a documented seam to swap in a real model call when you want one; some owners never bother.

What if I want to go back to paper?

Export your menu and order history as CSV any time and cancel — no contract, no exit call. Two owners have done this. Both came back within a month, for what it's worth.
